Prince Edward Island

Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)

untitled

Prince Edward Island (PEI) – the smallest Atlantic island province located on the east coast of North America is unique in its own way. Its awesome culture, which is amalgamated with cultivation, fishing and tourism sectors, is appealing and fascinating for talented aspirants who wish to immigrate permanently to dwell and touch the sky by enhancing their career. It has a growing population, wherein people look forward to migrate to knit social and economic fabric through The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

PEI-PNP furnish various channels for migration of proficient and distinguished workers. The PNP has 3 major categories which are further subdivided into migration streams, making it easier for candidates to choose the program. The 3 categories are as follows:

  1. PEI Express Entry
  2. PEI Labor Impact
  3. PEI Business Impact

Let us give you more information about these.

PEI Express Entry

This classification is for those candidates who have created Express Entry profiles under the Federal Government’s Express Entry program. The candidates who are in the Express Entry pool and are well captivated to reside permanently in Prince Edward Island (PEI) may qualify for PEI Express Entry if their skills and experience match with present labor needs. For a selection under PEI Express Entry, candidates must prove their capability for one of the federal economic immigration classes, which are:

The trump card for applying under PEI PNP’s Express Entry stream is that candidates need not have to submit an appointment letter from an employer in PEI while submitting their expression of interest (EOI). Similar to other PNPs, the candidates who are fortunate enough to be  nominated through PEI, have a maximum probability of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) because PNP nomination adjoins 600 points to their CRS score. Apart from this, the candidates who are already living and working in PEI at the time of application are given priority.

Once, you are aware that you are capable enough to apply for PEI PNP, start creating your profile. Initially, you need to fabricate your application form and submit your EOI on the PEI Expression of Interest system. Importantly, EOI is just a pre-application step. Once the submission of EOI is completed, you need to be patient in receiving your nomination. After receiving, it has to be accepted through your MyCIC account online. You need to fulfill pertinent application forms and submit them with the required documents for permanent residence (PR) visa from IRCC. A non-refundable fee of CAD $300 will need to be paid with the application.

This allows the enthusiastic individuals who wish to invest money in the Province and set up their business permanently. Candidates who wish to apply under this stream, are required to sign a Performance Agreement and, fortunately if it gets approval, will receive a letter of support from the Office of Immigration, which is a green signal to apply for a work permit which is given by the federal government.

If the candidate meets the terms and conditions of the Performance Agreement, then the candidate will be provided a nomination letter for permanent residency.

Following are the eligibility criteria for the Business Impact Category:

After obtaining nomination from the Government of PEI, The candidate is supposed to submit his application for Permanent Residency to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) along with the nomination certificate. IRCC will thoroughly evaluate your application based on various factors. The processing time might vary for different individuals.

In case there are changes in your profile, such as family status, employment, contact information, etc., you are requested to inform the Office of Immigration there and then. If there is any change after nomination, then you will need to inform both – the Office of Immigration and IRCC.
